About CamerA AbsurdA
CamerA AbsurdA is the online portfolio of Mark Lijesen (1969). Mark is a researcher in spatial and transport economics at the VU University in Amsterdam. Photography is ‘just’ a hobby. His other hobbies include his lovely wife Belinda (1969), his black Suzuki SV 650S (1999), His daughter Lara (2003) and son Ingmar (2006). On Flickr, you'll find a broader selection of Mark's work. You might also want to check out his stock portfolios listed further down this page.
The CamAbs blog
Mark also has a weblog. It contains weekly photography tips, weekly modeling tips and more. The weblog is co-authored by A Cat called Heart. Yes, she knows it’s a silly name, but she doesn’t care. She cares more for philosophy. From a cat’s point of view, that is.
Models, bands, groups
If you want to be in front of Mark’s camera, why not? Mark usually scouts models himself, but it won’t hurt to drop a line and a couple of pics. See the future projects page (in Dutch) to check for projects you might participate in. Make up artists and styling artists are welcome to apply as well.

Mark is also setting up a stream of group portraits. Bands and groups (such as dance groups and theater groups) looking for a free themed group portrait, drop a line as well. Please state what it is your doing as a group, describe your style and add some pics and/or music if you can. For more info (in Dutch), go here
